The 1880 census has a Charles Latimer age 35 wife Sarah E age 30 listed in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Subtract the 12 years of the difference between the date on the cups and saucers from date of census would have made him 23 years old and her 18 years old. Perfect time for a wedding. That is my best guess.
