Hello fellow Wiki's !   I have been working on this brick wall for several years.  Have many cousin DNA testers.... but we are all still stuck.  We think the father may have been Jacob Horn, of these 4 sisters (my 2x being Elizabeth Horn married Alfred Caswell Morrison) and her 3 sisters all living born near and or in Greene County TN and moved to Greene and Lawrence County Missouri together.   However, I can't find proof on paper or DNA wise.  And also he was married to Ruthamy Bowman Horn and she would have been too old to have most of these girls, although I find no proof of Jacob ever being married to anyone else.   So, that is the puzzle... Here are the 4 sisters in order:  1)Rachael Horn b:1806 NC- d: 8 Jun 1887 Ash Grove MO married William Likens, Jr.   2) Susannah Horn b: abt 1811 in TN  d: 16 Jan 1834 married James Barton Johnson  3)  Ester Horn b: abt 1813  d: bef 1860  married 1st George Squibb 2nd to Gravenor Likens (brother to her sister's husband)   4)  My 2 x Elizabeth Horn ( Wiki Horn 2109)  b: pick a record it's different in each census and F-A-Grave btw. 1813-1820  Greene County TN - d: 9 Aug 1897 in Lawrence County, MO .  Married Alfred Caswell Morrison.    DNA of descendants prove out the sisterhood of all four of these 4 gals.  I just can't break the wall to find parents.   I think if it is not Jacob Horn.... it must be some alternate spelling. Shortened from something maybe?   Researchers only picked Jacob back long ago when doing paper research because he was the only Horn living in Greene TN they could find at the time back before computer research. And some Ancestry sites still are listing him for a father, and when I point out the problem with the mother they take her off.  So, now it is down to just one listing Jacob as a father, last I looked at Ancestry hints.  Thank you very much for any help !

Hi Loretta!

I tried a search on newspapers.com to see if I could find a marriage announcement or obituary for Elizabeth, thinking it might list the parents, but I wasn't successful (you may have already tried this route).

My only other thought is that there is a Horn DNA project on Family Tree DNA that you could try contacting if you haven't already.  https://www.familytreedna.com/groups/horn/activity-feed

I did check your Gedmatch number against mine, and we didn't share any DNA, unfortunately (sorry I can't help there!).  My Horns didn't come to the U.S. until the 1840s, so it was a long shot with your Elizabeth being born in the 1810s, but it was worth a try.

Sorry not to be able to help more, and good luck with your search!

Hi Stacy:

Thank you,  but my Elizabeth was not born until between 1813-20 and she was married and having kids in Missouri when Elizabeth Horn Swanger was married to Jacob Swanger..  I have looked at most every Elizabeth Horn in Greene TN and not found her family.   All Elizabeth Horn's are either too old or too young :)  I have some new DNA matches on FTDNA .   Sure hope they return emails :)  it is rare they respond.   Thank you again so much for looking Stacy, it was a try.   If any of you run across a possible Elizabeth please let me know!
