Why is there no ability to search for a person using their Wiki-ID?

I know it has been asked for a 100 times, but it would be so much easier to be able to search for a person using their Wikitree ID.

Eg.  When you want to add a child, spouse or some other relative.

Please consider.

If you know the Wikitree ID there's no need to search, you just have to add it after the URL:

Yes Frank.  I know that is a method but it would be much easier to copy and paste an ID into a search page, such as the main search page under the Find option on the tool bar.  A lot of people have asked for the same question over a long period.
How is copying and pasting to a search page any easier than copying and pasting into the browser URL box?
It isn't.
If we had a search box that we could paste a WikiTree ID into, people would still post messages asking how to find it.  This is the internet.
Okay, but also, there is no standardization to Wikitree IDs. You would have to know and memorize (or write down) each one individually. When it would be so much easier to, idk, bookmark it, or just use the watchlist or search features.

That's a different question, Liz.  If you know the ID, there's no search.  You simply go there.

If you don't know the ID, standardization wouldn't help you.  How could you predict the numerical part of the ID?  You'd have to search, or use a bookmark, etc.  Of course, if you have a bookmark, or the profile is on your Watchlist, you know the ID. smiley

What Herbert said, plus if you want to easily keep track of profiles of interest that are not on your watchlist, you could make a free space page and list them on there.  If you list them as internal links ([[Doe-1|John Doe]]) then they will show up as nice links to the profiles.
