You don't have to be called Pate to connect with them.  That's like saying I will never connect with my Blagdon ancestors because I am a Haywood, not a Blagdon.

Just keep working back from yourself until another of your ancestors marries a Pate, and there you are.

Howard I am sorry you are feeling frustrated with the Pate issue. I feel it would be easier to follow your thread of thoughts if you continued the conversation in the first question, rather than start another.
