I posted 26 in 26 photos as of today. I already have the participation and the 13 in 13 badges.
I have posted 26 photos in 26 weeks.

@ Philip and Alison .. you need to post an ANSWER (not a comment) in the newer thread: Are you participating in the 52 Ancestors and/or 52 Photos Challenges?

Yes, I am participating in the 52 Photo Challenge. I completed 26 of 26 photos so far.
Dear Eowyn:

52 Ancestors, please...thank you.  (I already have 52 Photos badge, but sadly due to work commitments and trouble uploading on a public computer have managed only a couple). I'll keep trying, now that I can come up for air :)  ~Donna

My great-great grandmother was married to a man named Orange A. Blue who died in 1873, and they had a son also named Orange A. Blue!  He was born in 1873 and died in 1874.  After this tragedy, Eliza Sorden Blue married my great -great grandmother, John Pockman Brockway.  She lived until 1913, and is buried in Clay County, Kansas.  I couldn't imagine how a person got a name with two colors!  However, it seems to me the "Orange" represents Irish Protestant background.  If anyone has ideas or comments on my theory, I'll be happy to read it!  Thank You!

I know this is a little off topic but I have an ancestor whose name was Green Berry Gum. (Honest)
Heh. My aunt was named Ivy Green.

Hi, Can you please add me to both?  Thank you kindly.

P.S.  This is my first week in the Ancestors Challenge.  I'll be submitting my 13 in 13 shortly.smiley

What do you mean submit your 13 in 13?

We have not done 13 weeks yet.

We are about to do week 4 later on today.
Thanks, Paula! You've got the badge!

If Paula did some in 2018 then she could be close to the 13 in 13.

52 Ancestors - thank you!
Such a great idea, I get lost in gathering information and sources that I forget that they are real people with stories and lives ^_^

I'd like to tell you about my favorite grandfather; actually, there are two favorites. But, for this competition, I'm going to focus on one of the two and save the other for later. They are both equally outstanding and I'm lucky to have met and spent time with them both.

John Alma Smith was born of Scots Irish descent in hot and dusty Huntsville, Alabama. As he would tell it, you could fry an egg on a hot tin roof and the streets were so dry a man was perpetually thirsty.

As an energetic young man, he craved the oil fields of Oklahoma. Eventually, he found himself near Tulsa and a microscopic town named Turley. When he went to work in the oil fields he was so poor he dug through the trash to scavenge other men's hand-me-down oil-field clothes.

As he would often tell me: one day the oil company bookkeeper came looking for him. She said, "John A. why haven't you cashed a check in the past six months." "Well, madam I'm saving to buy a general store one day." "Well, John I wish you'd hurry up because you sure is messing up my books."

Oh John A. got himself that general store, and a hardware, a supermarket  chain, and two banks to keep his money in. Did I say he owned hundreds of his own oil wells he still worked every day?

I did both the 52 Photos and the 52 Ancestors challenges this morning.  Thanks for these challenges! They really give motivation to add to Wikitree, even though I've been really busy lately organizing my photos and documents.  (At least I knew where the photo of my Great Grandfather was!  ;)  )
by Susan Yarbrough G2G6 Mach 3 (30.2k points)
Thanks for adding things! You've got the badges now.
Thanks, Eowyn!  Question:  By answering this question, I am now getting emails for every new person who answers it or comments on it.  Is there a way to turn that off?

Thanks for your help!

Eowyn, I would like to join, as I love old photos, and I have several good ones. I tried putting on a picture, and it was too large and only part of it showed, so I am doing something wrong after I paste the image.
by Alexis Nelson G2G6 Pilot (851k points)
Eowyn, Sorry I made such a mess of things, but I figured out to start with Week 1 and go through the profiles to the pictures. I just need to read instructions.
You're doing fine! And now you are badged :)
