Finding a cause of death

Question

I'd like to find out why Will died at age 36. I've searched Ancestry, Family Search, and WikiTree. I've also used Oklahoma Historical Society and Elephind  websites to try to find newspaper obits and stories. I can order a death certificate through OK2Explore, but it's $15.00.

Is there another source I should check?

Welcome, Lisa!  If you want the official cause, and a document to back it up, you need the certificate.  If you're lucky, someone already paid the fee and posted it somewhere.  Otherwise, you just have to decide whether it's worth $15 to you.

I see that there are 2 William T Gossett born about same time, different states. Also a few more just William.

This is a big help. I was able to find the record you provided on Ancestry. It's not "my" Gossett, but you've given me a new place to look for information.

Just as an FYI, the William T. Gossett I'm looking for was married to Parmelia Frances Tarter. They lived in Bennington, Bryan County, Oklahoma. He was working for the post office in 1918 and by the 1920 census, he wasn't working and died about a month later at age 36. His 2 brothers also died young. His son, and my grandfather, died at age 54. It has me curious.
