Looking for the Roberts line from Orange Co. New York, William Roberts b.1853 d.1893 is as far as I got.

I am a little puzzled that the census was taken in Chenango county New York rather than in Orange county New York. He might have relocated from one county to another, but the certainty of that 1870 census being the right family seems a little uncertain.

I have a distant cousin, Catherine Roberts, who lived in Utica, Oneida County, New York who was born there in 1834.

This isn't the Roberts that was my great grandfather. I was so excited I immediately went to my Ancestry tree and added the info and followed all the hints. I found a headstone with him buried next to his sister, Cora Belle, with death as 1931.  My gr grandmother was a widow by 1895.  Plus my gr grandfather was a gunsmith and I didn't see Anthony's son ever working with anything mechanical.  Thanks so much for your help.
