His Houston family made it to East Texas in the mid 1800s.  Thank you.

Well, there's HOUSTON in mine also ... and there's around 3,268 Houston currently indexed, although not necessarily found in Texas.

What concerns you about your Houston connections? Or more accurately, about your husband's.

Houston  is  my  direct  line  and  not  my  husbands. I  have  accurate  information from  John  Houston who came  to  the  colonies  with  his  wife (Cunningham)  and  his  elderly  mother.  As  I  agreed  to  a  merge other ancesters  followed  which  I  am  not  sure  of  and  would  like  some  documents  if  possible.
I  now  have  clarification in  my Houston line.  General  Sam  Houston  is  project protected. For  my  Houston  Line My 5th great  grandfather and General  Sams  2nd  greatgrandfather are  the  same.
I have been told all my life that my grandmother, Lila (a.k.a. Lilla) Ann Houston was a relative of General/Governor Sam Houston, but I cannot find the link to her parents who, according to the 1900 and 1910 census were born in Alabama. Do you find her listed as a child of any of your ancestors. She was born around 1877 in Henderson, Rusk County, Texas.
I  will  search.  One  of  our mentors  who  knows  a  lot  about  the Houston  line  is  Robin  Lee  who  has  been  such  a  help;  Perhaps  she  will  see  this and  add  information.
Wikipedia, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sam_Houston indicates Gen'l / Gov Sam Houston (1793-1863) married 3x, 1st to "Eliza Allen Houston", and while married to her, formed a "common law" marriage to Tiana Rogers (d. 1838) a part-Cherokee Amerind, and third, married Margaret Moffette Lea of Marion, Alabama (8 children followed)

Using the search term <gov sam houston> on google

switching to <gov sam houston, chldren> we see children listed with photos Andrew Jackson, Temple Lea (a son), Sam Jr, Nancy Elizabeth, Antoinette Power, Mary William, William Rogers, and Margaret Lea HOUSTON -- these appear to be "click and go" icons
