Protocol on adding new people

If I find a profile who is under another's control and I have parents not listed; what is the correct protocol for adding the parents.
Do I contact the person who has control of the child and ask permission to add. Or do I go ahead and add the parents.
Want to do this right and not upset anyone.

The parents where already in WT when I went to add them. Just the one daughter was not connected to the parents. I also sent a private message to the owner explaining what I did and how I was related.

Go ahead and add the parents if you're certain. This helps grow the Wikitree! (And thanks for helping!)

As long as you have good sources, go ahead.

As other have said, add them with good sources. If the Profile Manager is watching the Last Name it will show on their Wiki Feed.
Optionally, you may send the PM a private Message alerting the parents have been added.

And if the profiles person was born before 1700 definitely discuss first.
Does the existing narrative say anything about the person's origins?
