More Gregorys. John father of Henry, did he migrate? Alice mother of Henry was not an Alton

John's wife Alice on Wikitree and elsewhere has been mistakenly identified as Alice Alton. This is a fairly obvious error. See her profile for details. Does anyone see a reason to leave her surname Alton?

***Currently Wikitree's profile of John Gregory, father of Henry the immigrant, says he died in 1637, in Norwalk, Connecticut, supposedly a casualty of the Pequot War. Of course, Norwalk didn't exist as a political entity in 1637, but there was activity along the coast areas during the Pequot War. None of the considerable "sources" for Henry and his family says anything about the death of John, other than he was living in 1617, when his wife Alice was buried. None make any indication that he left England. He is not mentioned in the early Connecticut or Massachusetts Colony records. There aren't any confirmed dates but estimating very conservatively he was not born after 1580 and much more likely about 1550. He would be between 60 and 90 in 1637, a little old for running through the woods chasing Indians.

Did he or Didn't he ? Is there anything to give a clue? Where did the notion that he died in 1637 come from?
