Hi, Rand. It's still in its early stages, but the new mitoYDNA.org site might help. They're currently accepting account registrations and uploaded data, but matching isn't yet available...coming soon.
My understanding is that, at least for its initial iteration, mitoYDNA will use only a max of FTDNA's 111 STR markers for comparison and matching. I believe you can upload a .CSV that includes all your tested SNPs out to FTDNA's 500 (or so), but those extended markers won't be used for matching. Also, I've seen no intent to be able to enable .VCF uploads for possible Y-SNP matching.
It will take time for an even modestly useful database to grow at the site. And from my experience as an FTDNA project admin, a not insignificant number of test results that used to be at Ysearch were from men who are now deceased (or at least disinterested) and their accounts and test kits unmanaged. For some time, simply clicking a button in your FTDNA account put your yDNA information on Ysearch, so the database grew quickly relative to Y-STR tests taken. And we have now lost a portion of those data, probably forever.
We can only hope that mitoYDNA gets broad exposure and that a large number of yDNA testers create accounts. Time will tell.
