The surname Knight goes all the way back to the French surname Chevalier

IF you enjoy Pope and Ceremony there are many who would love to sell Glitz and Glitter.

The Knight surname comes from the middle english Knyghte meaning "Knight" The name was often taken by servants in royal or nightly households or who won title. See the old English variant Cniht, meaning "Serving Lad" or occupation as a servant.
