A few lines will end up being connected with the proposal that I put in the comments (and have reproduced below) for the affected profile. A little more can be said here. I've done a fair bit of clean-up on the French line*, as it eventually leads to a Mason branch that is near to me. Most of these twigs need some attention to sources as well as the primary connecting profile, which would be a son for this Christopher Savage I profile.
Any advice of where to best find sources would be appreciated: most of the profiles on FamilySearch are without sources. Some intersections graft into some "The Peerage" lines.
Whereas, Richard Savage (ca. 1512-1551) is not listed as "among other children;" and it appears that his candidate spouse was Alice Watson (ca. 1535-1585) - as her 1st marriage; sources are sought to confirm his addition.
Further, Alice Watson and Richard Savage appear to be the parents of Susan (Savage) French (b. 1550 - apparently, before that as informed by Alice Watson's first childbirth by William Smith).
If possible, sourcing for Alice Watson will be enhanced in this, too.
Most compelling source for Richard Savage:
- England & Wales, Prerogative Court of Canterbury Wills, 1384-1858: Richard Savage, Death: Abt 1551, Civil (presumably probate date): 6 Aug 1551.
Thus, Alice Watson married Richard Savage 1st, widowed, married William Smith-3168.
*Interestingly, two brothers have similar names: George French, and Dennis George French. The former married Cecilia Grey (in "The Peerage"), while his brother Dennis George French has an unknown wife, but they bore a daughter (among other children), who married Thomas Mason planter at Accakeek and (apparently) were an immigrant generation to Virginia, well before the close of the 17th century.
