Philip Fehr 1844 Germany - NYC- Need Help with Parental lineage, sources, etc

Philip Fehr Born February 10, 1844 in Germany. We would like to know his parental lineage and also the town in Germany they were all from originally. They all moved to New York City the Manhattan area then Bronx and never left the area. We found the children: Madeline (Fehr) Vienot, Elizabeth (Fehr) Koehler, William Philip Fehr Sr, & Herman H. Fehr. There might be more kids maybe a George but unsure. Initially Philip Fehr was confused with the Ohio Philip Fehr (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Fehr-268) who is not our lineage although could be related somehow  ( Fehr Surname is on my wife’s side) we have him married to Elizabeth Diehl. They were German immigrants but we don’t know the date they arrived. Any help with the genealogy of this person would be appreciated. Thank you wikitree family

without any clue where he could be from in Germany it will be hard to find anything. In the 1840s there were many different countries like you can see here:  https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/e9/Deutscher_Bund.svg Because of those many states there are many different archives that have infos about people. But to find the one that has infos on *your* family you have to know where they lived.

This might be a typo for the word “Germany” but shows a name “Greame” is this a town in Germany or a state?

"New York, New York City Births, 1846-1909," database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:2712-SQD : 11 February 2018), Elizabeth Diehl Fehr in entry for William Fehr, 01 May 1881; citing Manhattan, New York, New York, United States, reference cn 311144 New York Municipal Archives, New York; FHL microfilm 1,322,162.

I would love to see the picture itself to see if there was a transcript error. I suspect there was one, but I'm not 100% sure.
Looks like Hesse Germany
Hesse is considerably smaller. So we have only 3 possibilities where he could be from. See here: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/de/timeline/fe971f32e50f1bce4c615d80dedff694.png. The best would be to try to dig even deeper to narrow it even more.

According to New York, New York City Marriage Records, 1829-1940 located at https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:24MF-TJ3  Philipp Fehr married 09Jul1870 Elizabetha Diehl at Manhattan,Ny.   Philip is listed as son of Philipp Fehr and Catharina Delis.  Elizabetha is listed as daughter of Philipp Diehl and Catharina Fell.  Also found a naturalization dated 1868 in NY. This would indicate that Philiip arrived prior to 1868.
