Last week I submitted a few Unresponsive Profile Manager Rewuest forms for profiles of deceased individuals whose profiles I’m interested in merging with. What happens next? Will I be notified of the outcome of those requests? Just wondering!

The bottom of the unresponsive profile manager form contains a message that says: If it's been more than a week after you submitted this request and you have not heard back, e-mail the team at info@wikitree.com.

Thanks everyone, for the feedback.

The profiles I’m interested in are for distant cousins who have been deceased for many decades. I was under the impression that profiles for deceased individuals are usually open, but these ones are at privacy level yellow: Private with Public Biography and Family Tree. They were created several years ago, so perhaps the rules were different then.

Either way, I have created duplicate profiles for them (as suggested on the Unresponsive Profile Manager page). I would much rather not have duplicate profiles, which is why I am trying to follow the Unresponsive PM guidelines. The PMs of these profiles have been inactive for several years, according to their contributions, so I would be happy to adopt these profiles if the PMs are no longer interested in them.

Not necessarily, it depends on the privacy levels and unlisted status. Also if there is someone on the trusted list they might become PM.

If you are trying to merge with a profile that has an unresponsive manager, the easiest thing to do is to propose the merge and just wait 30 days. So long as the other manager doesn't reject the merge or make it an Unmerged Match, the merge will be automatically approved after 30 days. See Unanswered Merge Proposals

That works only for Open profiles. Alex may be interested in profiles that have some other privacy setting. For those, it is necessary to be on the Trusted List in order to do a merge.

When WikiTree receives an Unresponsive Profile Manager (UPM) request, usually an email is sent by the team to the profile manager. We must wait a full 7 days for a response from the manager as a reasonable waiting period. Now the UPM request may not be seen by a team member for 24 to 48 hours and similarly may not fall dues for action when a team member is available to action it, so, although some will be actioned in 7 days you should expect notification sometime in the period of 10 to 14 days in a worse case. If you still have not received a response by then, then by all means send a follow-up message.
