Hail!

I could use the help of my Quebecois friends with something. On familysearch I found another potential son for Georges Laplante and Philomene Godier. A while back I asked about all of their kids and got a few. I managed to make a few profiles. This one seems complete. Here's the lowdown:

Name: George Zepherin Laplante

Born: 5 Mar 1865 in Saint Ignace, Chateau Richer, La Cote de Beaupre, Quebec, Canada. Something about that seems fishy to me.

Death: May 3rd, 1941 Newburyport, Mass.

Married: Mary Goyette

Had six kids:

Mary (18 Jul 1887 Newburyport-1 Jan 1947 Newburyport)

Arthur (1890)

Anetta (1892)

Georgianna (1895)

William (1901)

Agnes (1904)

Mary seems to have a pic and everything. A while back I messaged the profile manager and got no response. So, I am leaving it up to you guys to help me confirm this George Zepherin Laplante!

Thanks in advance!

George Zéphirin Plante, son of George Plante and of Philomène Godier, born and baptized same day of 5 Mar 1865 in Cap-Saint-Ignace, godfather Zéphirin Bernier, godmother Josephte Jalbert (?).  baptism image https://www.genealogiequebec.com/Membership/LAFRANCE/img/tag/d1p_10061037.jpg Drouin institute (membership needed).

As far as the location as you write it out there, that is totally off, Cap-St-Ignace is on the south shore of the St-Lawrence, near Montmagny.  Château-Richer is on the côte de Beaupré on the north shore of the St-Lawrence.

That's what I figured and that's why I asked. I was looking at the profile on Familysearch and I opened Google Earth in another tab. I typed in the location and I was like "Wait a minute. This doesn't make sense."

FamilySearch and I have trust issues.

I'll be editing that in a minute and of course I'll be doing the profile for George Zépherin. With accent this time!!

Thanks for your help!

Side note: Zépherin sounds like an awesome name doesn't it?

it is Zéphirin, not Zépherin.  And I had a great-uncle of that name, who was quite the character, so yes, awesome name.  laugh

Great Uncle Z. Sounds so cool. Like he's gonna drop some sick beats.  Fixing name error. Thanks!
