Well done, Frank!
I have ancestors named John Marsh, but not the John Marsh born 1611 in England. The earliest was born about 1560 Braintree, Essex, England.
Thank you for your answer.  Yes, I have been confused re. John Marsh(e)'s of Salem and Connecticut for a while now.  I was convinced that Salem was from Braintree and thought the Connecticut might also be from Braintree.  As Matthew Fletcher suggests, there are a lot of John Marsh(e)'s born around that time.  My brother is doing a DNA test through "Living DNA" and we should have some answers soon.  I'll let you know.  Many thanks.
My mother was named after Jane Elizabeth Marsh of Bethel, VT, 1814-1833. She was Elizabeth Marsh Bell 1920-2006. Jane Elizabeth Marsh was the granddaughter of Colonel Joel Marsh who was in the American Revolutionary War, 1748-1806 born Lebanon, New London, CT.

There are already profiles of two immigrants called John Marsh(e) and it's clear that there has been a lot of confusion between them. The "Hartford" John Marsh https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Marsh-17 is considered to have been born in Braintree, Essex, 1618. The one you're interested in, the "Salem" John Marsh(e) https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Marsh-404 is thought to have been born in 1611. Comments on both profiles indicate a lot of previous confusion regarding parents etc.

One thing I immediately notice is that the Salem John Marsh also has a birth location of Braintree, Essex. This seems unlikely and is probably a remnant of the previous confusion but his parents can't be identified without knowing his birthplace. There was a John Marsh baptised 28 July 1611 in Staffordshire as in Frank Gill's answer but there are at least eight or nine others baptised in 1611 from Somerset, Kent, London, Nottinghamshire and Cheshire. Where is the proof that the Salem John Marsh was from Staffordshire?
