Darnit. I always hit the wrong button. Should have been an answer.

If there were a way in the universe to change the buttons, I’d have them say  ‘nested reply’ and ‘comment’ to be less confusing. Just sayin, lol.

Angela, I've seen "answer" and "comment" used like this on other forums too, so I guess it's something we need to get used to.  On Quora though I think the comment is in a small font under the post, and answer is a big button on the left.

Me thinks that it would be a good idea for one of our members to post a simple process of adding photos to this challenge. Like, 1.  Do this  2. Do this 3. Do this......etc etc.  I have been a member for six years and I still get it wrong!  any takers?  I would do it but I still have problems with getting it right!

Here is the way it works for me:

1. copy the tag Space:52_Photos_Week_6_Childhood

2.  upload your photo to your profile page under images.

3.  go to that image page and scroll down to "People & Things in the Image"

4.  add the tag above to the box.

5.  go to the G2G "52 Photos Week 6: Childhood" question posted on G2G.

6.  Answer the question with your comment and photo in the toolbox window.

7.  Add the Url of the image.

8.  Drop your image in the text box window.

9.  Click on the Add comment button.  Finished

Now I have my image on the Space: 52 photos page and under the G2G question...whatever it may be...in this case the photo challenge.

There must be an quicker way to get the image to the correct G2G question at hand.  Normally if I wanted to share a photo I would upload it and select "Share on G2G" on the image page, however this doesn't work if I wanted to share it on a particular posted question or I want to share an image that has already been uploaded to my images...since "Share on G2G" option isn't available.

I have tried putting my image in the toolbox photo option but it doesn't always work.  I probably need a 101 course on this.  I will gladly be the first to sign up!

I put this on Angela's reply in the middle of the page, this might be a better place for it:

Basically:

1. you need to have a picture uploaded someplace, either on a profile or in the free-space page.  
2. Copy the link for the picture (generally click on the picture, may take more than once, so the URL ends with .jpg).
3. Then when doing a reply, click on the little picture of a mountain and the sun, a window will pop up where you can paste in the URL.  You may want to set the picture width to 500 pixels or something, I haven't really figured out when it will auto-size it.
4. Click on Add Answer to finish.

Much the same as yours, but you can load pictures directly into the 52 Pictures space, you don't have to put it on your profile and categorize it.  I haven't used the "Share on G2G" option, so I can't comment on that.

Sue - you can't delete comments or answers, near as I can tell.  But you can delete everything inside it.  First though, you should be able to edit the photo properties, and in that window you can can resize the photo (set the horizontal or vertical size), it could be the whole picture won't fit properly. Try a width of 400.

But - pictures are supposed to be added as "answers" (following this section), not as "comments".

Here's another shot of my mother [[Laurin-13|Lois Elaine Laurin]] with her friend Louise Crespi in front of their fort that they built in Exeter, New Hampshire (I've read in letters written by my mother that a "tramp" moved into the fort and her father forbid her to ever go in there again)

This is a picture of my Grandfather Nathan Cox on the left, his younger brother Harry in the middle, and his older half sister Nora on the right. Harry was born in Dickenson County, Virginia in June 1913. Their dad was working as a tunnel foreman at the time. Since Nora is in the picture, I am assuming by the time this picture was taken, they were back home in Bluff City, Sullivan County, Tennessee. Nora lived most of the time with her father's mother and brothers.

My maternal grandfather Lee OWENES had a tough childhood. Three younger siblings went to the Methodist Orphanage when both their parents died between 1905-1909. He was only 17 in 1910, living with his older brother, Sid.
But, this is a picture of all of his family, before his parents died. My grandfather is in the back, middle.

Thank you for sharing this wonderful photo, in what, I assume, were happier days. What a tragedy to lose both parents and have your siblings split up. I hope they were able to get back together at a later time.

My great-great-great-grandfather, Calvin Howland, Jr. and his second wife, Harriet (Savary) Howland.  Though the little girl is the reason for posting the photo here, I do not know who she is.  Most likely one of several granddaughters and great-granddaughters.  Calvin died in February, 1901, so the photo is from before that year.

What a sweet photograph! Most of the ones I have from that era are stilted studio-type photographs, but this one portrays precious spontaneity.

This photo was from a neighbor's 6th Birthday Party in 1959.  The theme of the party was "Dress Up" and according to my mom, the girl's had a lot of fun that day.  My two older sisters are in the middle of the back row.

Great photo! I remember "dress-up". We'd put on our mother's old clothes and stuff her high heels with something so that we could walk around in them. Always in a hurry to grow-up...

My grandpa and his beloved dog Shag, in 1922.

I love my grandpa's boots and overalls. I also love that, almost a hundred years later, Shag looks just like any dog that I might see at the park.

This is a photograph of my grandmother Estelle MacDonald at about three years of age with her three siblings: (clockwise started at 11:00) Anna Marie, Clara Richardson, Irwin James, and Estelle at the lower left. I have another version this photo taken about five years later and another taken about forty-fifty years later where they tried to take the same positions, but missed them.

Yeah sure was hot , humid. But we had fun for 2 and a half years then back to England for a bit. Another sister then off to Kenya for 3 years we moved a lot but we had a fab childhood.

My paternal grandfather Giovonni Joseph (John) "Tanker" Salvatore and his 3 older brothers and parents Luigi Salvatore and Rosa Josephine (Guida) Salvatore The picture is from around 1907/1908.

I wish I knew where the picture was taken France or America. His parents moved from Italy and lived in Ley Seyne, Toulane, France for several years where they had their first 4 children all boys. When my grandfather was about a year old they came to America thru Ellis Island. Luigi, his father came first and then his mother came with the 4 boys. They had relatives in Philadelphia so that is where they moved to and where my grandfather grew up.

This was the neighborhood "rec centre" when I was a child. We played sports here year round. It was flooded and boarded in the winter for hockey and skating.
