Need help properly adding sub category to TB death for the state of Vermont

Question

I added the sub category to her profile but it’s not linking to the main category of Category: United States, Deaths from Tuberculosis. I followed the instructions A category for those souls lost to tuberculosis in the United States. Other names for the disease throughout history are consumption, phthisis, scrofula, Pott's disease, and the White Plague. Unless you don't know which state they died in, please use 

Category:State-name, Deaths from Tuberculosis.

On the page for the category you create click edit and add the parent category, then save.
