Useful Tip: Using Roman Numerals (not a question)

+15 votes

Here's a tip: when typing Henry the Eighth, or World War Two, don't use the number 1.  Use the capital 'i' instead: I.

So, instead of having Henry V 111 - which would be Henry version one hundred and eleven - type Henry VIII instead.

Instead of typing World War 11 - which would be World War Eleven (shudders at the thought of so many world wars!) - type World War II, or WWII.

Thank you from the bottom of me pedant's heart for this. :)
Thanks, Ros!  I could see WW2 as an option but certainly not WW11. I've also occasionally seen using lower case letters for Roman numerals, but those should be reserved for documents that have prefatory pages.
