Veronica Sekula “Seckla” “Krempa” Monteiro 1888-1977 was born in Poland arrived in America 1912. She married first John Krempa (born Poland abt 1877-May 31, 1930 Scotch Plains, New Jersey, USA) & had seven children with Mr. Krempa. She remarried after he passed away to a Joseph Monteiro. Her brother is my great great grandpa Andrew “Sekula” Seckla (1874-1957) born in Galicia Poland arrived in America in 1905 with his wife Mary “Novak” Seckla. Andrew and his wife lived in New Jersey a few years then settling in East Hampton, Middlesex County, Connecticut for the duration of their lives. Veronica stayed in the Scotch Plains, Union County, New Jersey area for the duration of her life. They were Catholics. We see she took a trip to Gdynia, Poland departing from that town September 9, 1948 arriving back in NYC. Is Gdynia part of Galicia Poland? We are trying to trace the roots of the parental lineage into Galicia Poland and need genealogy help. Any resources or records would help. We have been able to find much info for both sister and brother Andrew Sekula and Veronica Sekula but can’t seem to find who the parents are yet. Also found the name Sekula in the Warsaw Ghetto Name List. Any help is appreciated. Thank you wikitree family.

FYI: per family sources the eldest son of Andrew Seckla “Sekula” changed the last name spelling. So Veronica last name remained Sekula.

Do you have Veronica exact date birth, perhaps off death record,or Social

Security.Just because she departed port City Gydynia ,does not mean she

born there.
I don’t have exact date of birth yet however the obituary says she died at age 82. We have a gravestone photo on Find a Grave. Still researching exact date of birth.

Hello.

Gdynia is a city build in Poland after the first world war when Poland regained access to the Balic sea .

https://www.google.com/maps/place/Gdynia/@54.537221,18.2567925,10z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x46fda145071ed789:0xdee2f99989236636!8m2!3d54.5188898!4d18.5305409

Gdynia is not a part of Galicja. Galicja is a name of lands which Poland lost for Habsburg Austria after first (1772) and third (1795) partition.
