A James Rushing is given as primary immigrant to Virginia in 1668 in

NUGENT, NELL MARION. Cavaliers and Pioneers: Abstracts of Virginia Land Patents and Grants. Vol. 2: 1666-1695. Indexed by Claudia B. Grundman. Richmond, VA: Virginia State Library, 1977. 609p.

Anybody have access to this reference to see if further information is given?

1934 copy on archive.org -> https://archive.org/details/cavalierspioneer00nuge

I searched for Rushen & Rushing & got no results.
I searched the online versions but nothing showed as I could not find Volume 2. The date was 1668 and the reference came from Family Search.
WorldCat listing - http://www.worldcat.org/oclc/865832468

HathiTrust has a limited search of Vol 2 (it will say how many times the search term is found) - https://catalog.hathitrust.org/Record/000184650  ... no results for Rushen. 2 for Rushing: page 40 & page 564
Thanks Liz, next time I'm in London will view British Library copy unless some kind person finds the detail before hand.

Have fun, Peter

Hi Marion

The date was 1668 and the reference came from Family Search.

Peter

The actual Virginia land records are available on the Library of Virginia web site.  James Rushing does not appear in a search, so it’s likely the Cavaliers and Pioneers reference to him is in a list of people transported by someone else.
