Should Janet Douglas be added as 2nd Wife for this Euro-Aristo KEITH?

I was doing some relationship checks and ended up looking through lots of Profiles. As I'm scanning sources on [[Keith-1273]] I see a source of http://www.thepeerage.com/p1694.htm#i16936. So I go and look cool.  This site says he was married to Margaret [[Erskine-106]] AND Janet Douglas. Janet is not shown as a wife.

The Wife shown on the Profile is Mariot Muriella [[Erskine-106]] Keith. She has a sister shown as Margaret [[Erskine-77]] Rutherford as the Daughter of Thomas Erskine and Janet (Douglas) Erskine.

Could someone look and see if there is a mix-up going on here wink? I am all kinds of confused after trying to figure this out (even though I cannot make changes to this profile) and only want to be sure the right people are where they should be.

Thank you!

That’s what I gathered but I wanted someone to look it over as I was going crazy switching profiles and tabs trying to see where that wife came from.

The Scots Peerage, has the wrong numbering for the Earl Marischal's (see the G2G question here) so the 1st Earl Marischal (in The Scots Peerage the 2nd Earl) did marry Mariot or Muriella Erskine as is on the profile.

James Rutherfurd, did marry a Margaret Erskine, but there is no mention of her parents.  See The Scots Peerage, Vol. 7, page 367.

And Darryl Lundy on thePeerage website just seems to be horribly confused.  Margaret Erskine is presumably the same person as Mariot or Muriella, and Lady Janet Keith, is the daughter of William Keith, 1st Lord Keith and Marjorie Fraser, the 1st Lord Keith is presumably not the same person as William Keith, 1st Earl Marischal.

Cut that last remark - Lady Janet Keith, was the daughter of William Keith, 1st Lord Keith and 1st Earl Marischal, but by his wife Mariot Erskine, according to The Complete Peerage, vol 11, p. 189.

Perhaps the problem is because thePeerage is developed from genealogical software and that makes it more difficult to pick up discrepancies in sources?

Havng posted the peerage links, I now read the work Kirk did last year, and it looks like the peerages got it a bit wrong.

The bio is uncleaned after merging also. Might need a general going over.

Please read again thepeerage.com.  "He married Janet Erskine, daughter of Thomas Erskine 2nd Lord Erskine and Janet Douglas."   Also, there are two numbering systems for the Marischals.  We have agreed to use the one found in Wikipedia.
