There was a question here, with many answers, about ones  Gateway ancestor to Edward III. He was my 19 th great grandfather. Who is the gateway ancestor? I see that other people have asked questions like this but I don’t know how to find the answers. I have not use this section of wiki Tree very much. Thank you everyone!

You will need to use the relationship finder to find your ancestors that lead to Edward III.

If you're American, look for your immigrant.

In your case, George Reade.  You share him with George Washington.

Your line back to George Reade is pretty much your own problem.  You and some of your less-distant cousins.

George Reade's line back to Edward III (and many other people) is a done deal.  It's public knowledge.  It's given in many books.

One result is, if you were to apply to one of those Societies, they'd only want your evidence back to George Reade.  They'd take the rest of it for granted.

Hi RJ, Thanks!

I realized George Reade was in the list only after I posted that message and could not figure out how to delete it.

I actually probably could provide most of that info.

I have a lot of family papers, a bible, etc. I have never felt like bothering to join any societies, but if I had to, I am almost certain I could prove everything they would want. As Groucho Marx says, "I refuse to join any club that would have me as a member." (I hope no one is offended by this. It's just a lot of hassle). As my mother was not born till my grandmother was almost 40, and I was born when my mother was 30 or so, I am not removed that far from some of the ancestors and the info is quite clear in all the records etc. I have been looking for Alexander Jones Sr.( my gg grandfather) and finding info on him on Family Search, I realized I had that information in the papers.... Many thanks

The Russian Jewish ancestors are the ones that are hard to find!
