Elvis Fans Unite? [closed]

Question

Elvis may have left the building (and headed "home" according to some conspiracy theorists), but he's still very much here on WikiTree. I am working on some updates to his profile over the next couple days and would love a hand. He could use some updates to his biography, mainly, more meat, more sources, more inline citations. If you enjoy adding that sort of thing, jump in! I'll be doing some dressing up and style guide updates, but enjoy seeing what others have to add, too :-)

It's also always a good idea to give his tree a looking over for any loopy connections!

It's all disappeared in to Black Privacy now, but I did some work on Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh when he was first nominated. Kavanaugh's wife turned out to be Elvis's 4th? cousin, maybe removed a time or two. Both descended from a Cherokee woman in Tennessee.

I read an article in a Scottish paper called The Daily Record.

It had a list of famous people who could claim their Heitage back to Scotland and one of them was The KING  

The article claims Elvis's family tree goes back to a Blacksmith Andrew Presley who moved to America from Paisley in 1745.His Parents married in the villiage of Lonmay Aberdeenshire in 1713.

Most of the Presleys in Scotland in 18th & 19th Centuries came from Aberdeenshire.

The article also mentions,Barrack Obama,Enimen,Rees Witherspoon,Ronald Reagan,Jonny Cash,Bill Clinton and Donald Trump.(If It's noo Scottish It's Crap a quote from S.N.L.)That was said before you know who.

Elvis was there when it mattered : 'cracking Memphis's segregation laws'

Firstly, in June 1956, 'The Memphis World' newspaper reported, 'the rock 'n' roll phenomenon cracked Memphis's segregation laws' by attending the Memphis Fairgrounds amusement park 'during what is designated as 'colored night'. On December 7, 1956 Elvis also attended the otherwise segregated WDIA black radio station's annual fund-raiser for 'needy Negro children' at Memphis' Ellis Auditorium.

On this December night, Elvis performed alongside some of his own heroes, Ray Charles, B.B King & Rufus Thomas. There was no doubt that Elvis was seen as a champion in the black Memphis community and his concert audiences were certainly not all white as is often believed. Although Elvis' recording contract did not permit him to perform at the fund-raiser for radio station WDIA, he set off a sensation. The Pittsburgh Courier described the reaction that night as, 'A thousand black, brown and beige teen-age girls in the audience blended their alto and soprano voices in one wild crescendo of sound that rent the rafters ... and took off like scalded cats in the direction of Elvis Presley'. (All from just a brief emergence from behind the curtain!!).
