Seeking documentable evidence for the parents of Jesse McLain b 1794 SC d 1870 Polk Co., AR.

Question

I have researched the family of Jesse McLain (also McCLAIN-McLEAN-McLANE,etc) b 1-2-1794 SC and died 10-4-1870 Polk County, AR. for 35 years as they travelled from SC to AL to MS to AR and possibly elsewhere during his lifetime. I know he was married to Philloby (Fereby) Hobson in Jefferson Co, AL in 1822 and to Sarah Knight in 1837 in Perry County, AL after Fereby's death. Had children by both families. Also lived in Neshoba County, MS (where some of us still live). I am looking only for honest, researched data, not to see my own research incorrectly transcribed and handed back to me. Hi. I hope you still check this. Jesse McLain was supposedly my fourth-great-grandfather, and I am trying to find some information on the McLain/Maclean(?) family line. I am very much a novice, and really have no idea how to find out about anyone before him. Maybe you have discovered something since 2014 and could point me in the right direction?
