Hi Suzanne, welcome to wikitree.
We do have some 'rules' about creating pre 1700 profiles; some of these ancestors are shared by many people so it's important that they have good sources and some conformity. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Pre-1700_Profiles
As well as self certifying ( a mulitiple choice quiz) we are expected to co-ordinate with a project- if one exists.
Like many new things, wikitree can be a bit bewildering and it may sound a bit dauning, though looking at your profile I'm certain you will realise the importance of citing sources. Sometimes, the mechanics of the system needs a bit of learning. It certainly did for me. Fortunately, there is plenty of help at hand.
I notice from your profile that you have ancestors from England so for earlier profiles in England, that would be the relevant project. The England project has an excellent scheme called 'the Orphan trail' .Participation in that would really help you when it comes to creating those profiles of your earlier ancestors ( and is equally applicable to the later ones) https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:England_Orphaned_Profiles_Team
