ALL I HAD TO GO ON WAS PASSED DOWN STORIES, THAT RICHARD CAME TO AMERICA,  FROM NORTHERN IRELAND , AS A YOUNG STOWAWAY, IN 1750  .I HAVE SEARCHED FOR YEARS AND CAN NOT FIND HIM,UNTILABOUT 1770/72 AS A TITHABLE IN FINCASTLE, BOTETOURT CO'S VA. AND WITH 80 ACRE. GRANT FROM ROYAL LAND CO IN RICH VALLEY VA IN 1774  .I HAVE THE FAMILY ON DOWN FROM THERE. HE HAD 4 SONS JUST AS THE STORY SAID, FRASER, GEORGE, STEPHEN & ROBERT.OUR LINE WAS FROM FRASER(OR FRAZIER) THAT MARRIED PHOEBE RIGGS,DAUGHTER OF DR. ASA RIGGS , STORIES SAY PHOEBE WAS BORN IN TN IN 1769.

NOW,  WITH A DNA TEST OF A DESCENDANT, I WONDER IF HIS NAME WAS REALLY BRINDLEY. MANY STANLEY'S ARE A CLOSE MATCH .FLEET AND SANDS STANLEY ARE MENTIONED. ALSO THE SURNAMES BRINDLE, THOMPSON, MITHCHELL,WESTON AMONG OTHERS .NO BRINDLEY'S EXCEPT KNOWN RELATIONS...  .TESTS SHOW A I*  I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE HELP ON THIS.... THIS IS MY LATE HUSBANDS ANCESTER, I AM 86 AND WANT THIS FOR MY CHILDREN. Helen J Brindley
