cemetery template

oops, I was just searching, but since it created a question,

I have been adding the cemetery templates.

I noticed there was a line for billion graves but when I searched for a template I found horror stories about dealing with the site. This discourages me from adding a reference for a profile.

Is there a policy on Billion Graves? Do we want a line in the cemetery template, are we creating a template to reference to a grave?

By "Cemetery templates", do you mean the CategoryInfoBox Cemeteries? In this case, the billiongraves parameter is not required and you can just ignore it if you don't want to hassle with it.

I ignore billiongraves myself, nothing is documented for my area, and there are many duplicate "sites" on the site.

The BillionGraves line is optional. I use it for many cemeteries in New Zealand as many times it offers more records than Findagrave...and is helpful for working out the scope of profiles to be added.

As with Findagrave there can be duplicated cemetery pages but they can also provide some additional corroboration of the cemetery work we are adding to WikiTree. Where there are errors on these sites I submit change requests or merge requests. Most are corrected within a week of submitting (for the Oceania region anyway).
