There is a good book written about Frances (Maconaquah) Slocum. Simply titled "Frances Slocum, the Lost Sister of Wyoming)...Wyoming, Pennsylvania. It is true that the 3 Native Americans involved in the killings were Delaware, however Frances was raised with the Miami Indians, where she was treated with much respect. She did much for the Miami, even petitioning Congress for their welfare. She was sucessful in securing a square mile of land in Indiana. Much in the area is named for her. Her brothers went to look for her after many years, finding her living in or around Peru, Ind. She spoke very little English. The book was written by John Franklin Meginness. I thought it was a good read.
