Seeking help on Patrick Walsh who emigrated to Philadelphia in the 1920s

Any help in tracing what happened to Patrick Walsh originally from Kilcash, Co Tipperary, Ireland:

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Walsh-7079

We think he went to Philadelphia and the photo I have attached to his profile we found in an old family album which we think is Patrick but not 100% sure. The photo has a wife and child which hopefully means there are descendants still in Pennsylvania.

Patrick participated in the Irish War of Independence and probably emigrated soon after in the early 1920s.

He had a brother in New York already John Joseph Walsh and we have identified this branch of the family:

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Gerry

Is this Patrick Joseph Walsh.??????????

Hi Wayne, I found an Immigration record for a Patrick J Walsh who resided at 3639 Master Street,  West Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Is that the Patrick Joseph Walsh you mention?

I am also searching (with much less evidence than you) a possible Patrick Walsh in my wife's lineage. Some details match, some aren't even close; so this may be fruitless but I'm throwing it out there in case one of us has something that would help the other;

  • DOB:  about 1890's
  • Birthplace: most likely County Cavan, Ireland
  • Parents: John Walsh & Catherine Nolan
  • Sibling: William James Walsh - immigrated to Jersey City NJ before 1916
  • Spouse: possibly Margaret Sexton
  • Children: possibly Patsy (Walsh) McCauley and Mary Agnes Walsh

Welcome James. That is definitely a different Patrick Walsh than I am looking for as I am certain of the details on the Irish side but do not know anything for definite on the US side. Happy to share the thread if it helps to find any Patrick Walsh

I did a search on findmypast.com (free record search of Irish baptisms) and the only result I found that nearly matched your Patrick were as follows:

https://www.findmypast.com/transcript?id=IRE/PRS/BAP/6052549

  • DOB:  9 Jul 1876
  • Birthplace: Annagh, County Cavan, Ireland
  • Parents: John Walsh & Catherine Lee

But also found in Mayo register

https://registers.nli.ie//registers/vtls000634596#page/52/mode/1up

  • DOB:  8 Jan 1876
  • Birthplace: Addergoole, County Mayo, Ireland
  • Parents: John Walsh & Catherine Nallon
Thank you so much! You are *definitely* going "above and beyond" - your help is very much appreciated!
