Hi Martha,

What about Richards?  Part of my Welsh heritage is Richards.  Seems to follow the surname explanation for Richard.

thank you -but I  wonder if it is o k to have both- mine was set up from G2G & seems like he knew what he was doing & would not have set it up if he thought they were the same - I will contact him & see what  he thinks about it  why do you think it should be merged ?

thanks - I got a message from someone who said he has a  RICHARDS one study & thinks they are the same so they should be merged - I tend to think that is o k as two different ones or it would not have been set up from G 2 G - could some one please give an answer on this -

I  would contact Ros Heywood who is the Project Coordinator for One Name Studies. 

This is from the One Name Studies FAQ Page:

Can you create a one name study for a patronymic name?

No. Surname studies should follow one surname through the generations, although there may have been variations in the spelling.

So by this definition, the One Name Study Richard should be combined with the One Name Study Richards to follow the guidelines of this Project.
