Do you have info on a Ashford John Ray or John Ashford Ray that lived in Cumberland County/North CArolina?

I am trying to do my family geneaology. He was married to a Sarah Autry.  They were married January 12, 1820 and had I think 6 kids. He was my Great Great Great Grandfather. I would appreciate any help you can offer.

According to FamilySearch.org his name was John Ray.  It might have been John Ashford Ray but FS only gave the name as John Ray.  The information was typewritten so it was presumably transcribed.

You might want to check out the jordantree.tripod.com/ray.htm website.  It has some information about your John Ray there as well as the names of 5 children.

 

Findagrave.com has a whole virtual cemetery dedicated solely to the descendants of this couple.  This should keep you busy and help you build you tree.  I can never make a good link on G2G  I found it when I typed "sarah autry john ray cumberland nc" in the search engine.
