Is it possible to have my father's name on Wikitree reflect his name change?

MY father was born Irving Louis Fishman, but later changed his last name to Fiske for literary reasons and because it sounded "more euphonious." I suspect also because of the Holocaust and anti-Semitism.  Is there any way to give him a Wikitree ID number for Fiske, not Fishman, or at least to have his name appear as Irving Louis Fiske on his profile? Thanks all!

Fishman is his LNAB and needs to remain so. It is no different to someone who changes name due to marriage, divorce or just because he wanted to.

Thank you, but I think that’s rather unfortunate. People should be able to be known by the name that they used in life?

He is known by the name he went by in life. But this is a genealogy site where we seek to accurately document the genealogy of a person.  If we changed his last name at birth to Fiske, that would be inaccurate.

His current last name should be Fiske and the bio should explain the name change.

You'll often see bios on Wikipedia that say, for example:

Tony Curtis (born Bernard Schwartz; June 3, 1925 – September 29, 2010) was an American film actor...

Your bio of your father could be similarly worded.

I have noticed that some women are not known by their maiden names. For instance,my mother is named "Calhoun" here, not "Hall." Can this be changed? I assume it should be.
No, your mum’s profile is Hall, that will never change, that is a unique number. She is shown by her current last name.

you can put it in "Current Last Name", or "Other Last Name(s)"

Thank you.  It just it does not ring true to the way my father was in the way he lived. He and his brother Milton, classical composer, changed their name to Fiske. The other two siblings went on using the name Fishman. I realize there’s nothing I can do about it, But I did do (I think) both of the things you suggested..

Many thanks,
