Father of John Patrick Costigan was William Patrick Costigan, mother = Anne Slattery.

Anne Slattery is the first wife of William Patrick Costigan. 2nd wife is Ida May Childs. Where are you getting the "John" from?  William Patrick was married twice it seems. His mother is Margaret Kennedy Costigan married to William Costigan.

Richard Gerald Costigan of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, father of Cynthia Costigan (me).  William Patrick Costigan is the youngest son of William Costigan and Margaret Kennedy. These two individuals are the last Irish born Costigans on my father's side of the family (Costigan). 8 members of the Costigan family left Ireland in 1842 for the USA. They left the USA a few years later to live in Richmond, Quebec, Canada, but it appears that the youngest son, who went by the name of Patrick William and sometimes William Patrick left Canada and returned to the USA. He lived in Canada for a time with Patrick Cummiskey and Bridget Costigan.
