Where are Quaker Records Nine Partners, Duchess County NY pre-1745

Question

Palmer, Horace Wilbur,. Palmer families in America. Neshanic, N.J.: Neshanic Print. Co., 1966 references the Quaker MM records for Nine Partners (Great Nine Partners) in Duchess County, NY in relation to this William Palmer. The Nine Partners Quaker records at Ancestry appear incomplete and those archived at https://archive.org/details/quakerrecordsnin00soci/page/n6 also appear incomplete or lack records prior to about 1745. Thus this William Palmer and his wife Rachel Fowler (who is the current subject of my research) appear nowhere in these Quaker sources. Does anyone know where the earlier Nine Partners records may be found? Horace Palmer cites them but nowhere indicates were he found them.

The sources page on WikiTree for Nine Partners appears to contain records dated after those that would include William and Rachel. I don't see that they appear in those on the resource page.

From what I can gather, Oblong and Nine Partners Meeting was not granted until 1744 by Purchase QM.

I think when I follow this over to the Swarthmore Hazard Index most of the family appears in Purchase, Oblong and Nine Partners at different periods but the very early records appear scant (lost?). Hazard uses an abbreviation not on my list of shorthand which is: ack. What does that abbreviation stand for?

Rachel Fowler Palmer doesn't appear anywhere in the Hazard index under any of the three MM though she supposedly outlived William.

T, I don't know the answer to your question regarding what the Quaker abbreviation "ack." was intended to mean. In the county court where I worked for many years, I have seen that used to mean acknowledged.

This is the correct answer.  Both Oblong and Nine Partners were split of from the Purchase monthly meeting circa 1744.  Any available records predating then would be in Purchase.  The physical records are at Swarthmore College.  Someone else also mentioned the Hazard Quaker Index as a resource for records available there. Early records are sparse.

Just to update this thread for anyone else looking for Nine Partners Meeting Minutes, Michael Cayley has found that many of them are with the Canadian Friends Historical Association at this link. Records held in Canada appear to start about 1779 (so not entirely relevant to the original question of this thread).

After working with the Oblong and Nine Partners monthly meeting records, I found that a large number of Quakers in Dutchess County came from the Dartmouth monthly meeting. Those records are digitized, but mostly unindexed.

Thanks, Tim. The folks I was looking for aren't found in the Nine Partners records (a brother and his family are) so this may be the next place to look.
