He was a prodigy?  Extremely advanced for his age?  It was an arranged marriage from before he was even born and a proxy stood for him?

Well, Melanie Paul has covered the most obvious causes.

Most likely the DOB is 1733/35 and someone slotted it incorrectly into the DOM slot
