Why did the privacy level change when I added a child?

Question

About half an hour ago I added Ellen as mother to Henry.  Then I tried to add her as mother to Martin (the first Martin, not the second) and got a big yellow banner saying I could not.  Then, when I checked her profile, she'd gone totally private as though still living.  Now she's back to a yellow lock, but I don't understand why adding a child would close the profile.  There's no reason I can see for her to be private, or for her father to be private (he has to have died well over 100 years ago as Ellen was born 1813 and died 1921).

Help?

It's probably because the husband was unlisted and marked as living   i fixed it though.

Husband was open lock.  He's where I got the information to link her.  I am more puzzled than ever!

Ahh .. you fixed her father.  I didn't even know there was a profile. 

I was on her husband (who is open lock).

All the children now have a  mother .. and it's the same one for them all!

Maybe the father doesn't have the dot at the Death Date "unknown but dead for sure". AFAIK that locks the profile as still living. Do you accidently know the profile ID of the father? Then you could write Paul Bech a pm to open the profile.

I have no idea about her father.  I wasn't even on her profile.  I was in edit on the son's profile and all I did was add her ID# as mother.  Then, when I went to do the same for the next sibling, I got the yellow warning that I could not add an existing person.  These were all open profiles.
