For some reason a particular "add person" isn't working. I'm kind of stuck. [closed]

Question

I was trying to add Earl Nolan Coltran (youngest brother to Clifford Forrest Coltran).  When I tried to add him, it would change my date format from DD MMM YYYY to YYYY-MM-DD.  However, it never indicated what was wrong.  It just looped me to the top again each time with "add an unrelated person.

So I figured I would add his wife, and then add her spouse.  So I created Viola Mae "Gigi" (Skidmore) Coltran.   Then I tried adding her spouse, Earl Nolan Coltran.   It just sits there after I click the add button.   It never tells me what is wrong.  I figured the source was a problem, so I changed it from the URL to just the text.  The source URL is:

I changed ot to the text contained at the URL...

Apparently you have figured it out.  When I search the names I find profiles for both Earl and Viola.  All is now well?

I had this problem tonight when I was adding a father.  I finally gave up on that browser window, went back to the 'child' profile page, selected add Father, entered everything again and it went through with no problem.  It may have been a glitch at the time because I had the same problem that it changed my birth and death year to be the year-00-00 since I didn't have anything more than the year.   No issues when I started it again though

My guess - and it is a far-fetched one at that - is that you had a date value that was impossible … like February 29 of a year that wasn't a leap year or April 31 or something like that.

I have noticed that when that kind of date error happens, WikiTree does not accept it but does not tell you why.

For me, I only put in a year and it changed it to yyyy-00-00.  That would probably be an error but no error was seen and I had entered only a year.

Have you tried adding without using Earl? You can always add or change later

I hope I don't have this problem when I add my Majors!

Did add a Doctor Doctor Brooks its a while ago now can't remember if I had problems
