John was born about 1785 in County Monaghan, Ireland and died 8 May 1860 in Auburn, Placer County, California. His son Bernard, my 2nd great grandfather was born 18 Nov 1839 in County Monaghan as well. He died 28 Nov 1922 in San Mateo, San Mateo County, California. I am looking for any info in County Monaghan, I am unsure of the town or parish my relatives were from. I am trying to get them back to Ireland and find out about life & family there.

Thank you Betty!

Yes, the Eliza and Isabell who both lived in Auburn are Bernard's daughter's. As far as I know he had four children, I know where all for children are and ended up. What I don't know is Bernard's life before Auburn, CA. It appears that he and his children came to America sometime in the 1850's- perhaps. I "think" his wife may have died in Ireland or maybe on the trip over to America. I would love to find more on his life before Auburn.

Thank you much for taking the time to research.
