imageRegistration is now open for our 2019 Spring Clean-a-Thon

This is our third (!) annual Clean-a-Thon. The mission is to clear out as many database suggestions as possible over the 72 hours.

The cleaning will start on Friday, April 26, at 8 AM (EDT) and run until Monday, April 29, at 8 AM (EDT).

Will you join us?

To register, just click the ANSWER button and say "Sign me up!" or whatever and include a few words about your location and/or genealogical interests. This will help us assign you to a team. If you already know what team you'd like to be on, say that. The current teams are listed here. More may be added.

He Pierre,

Geweldig dat je weer mee doet!

Ik heb je een prive berichtje gestuurd.

Laat even weten of het zo lukt! Groeten hoor!
Yes is wiil participate with the Flying Dutchmen!
I'm an idiot! Ignore this message. I thought the clean up was in March when I was traveling. I have since signed up for the Sandringham Strollers because I will not be traveling that weekend!

Sadly, I am traveling for work! I will not be able to clean anything, including my house! I will return on March 30th and start adding to Profiles. Meanwhile, I am sending positive cleaning energy to all WikiTreers! Sincerely, Carol (Baldwin-3428)
Thank you Carol. Save travel!

Fantastisch Rob dat je ons team wil komen versterken. Ik stuur je even een persoonlijk berichtje.

Hier is vast onze team pagina als je op de foto klikt.

Schone groeten,

Astrid

Sign me up for the Spring Clean-a-Thon.  I've heard the sirens already this spring in Ohio so I'm in for the Tornadoes!

The Mid-Atlantic Team is looking for more teammates! Anyone and everyone welcomed!

I would like to work on the Southern states with particular interest in Alabama and Georgia - but will help anywhere needed. I don't expect I will win any t-shirts, but I'm eager to push up my sleeves and get some cleaning done.
Sorry - I missed hitting the answer button - found it - please disregard. It wouldn't let me delete the previous response.
Sign me up please . . . I will join the Windsor Warriors . . . Thanks

I signed up for Team Australia, so do I work on Australian time, or the time where I'm at?

Neither, unless you live in Eastern Daylight Time.

The cleaning will start on Friday, April 26, at 8 AM
(EDT) and run until Monday, April 29, at 8 AM (EDT).

Eastern as in USA.  Got it.  Don't like stupid time, but ..
Me neither!

Come join Team 811! You can work on any area that you wish. We do post merge clean up on profiles.

Team 811  yes

New to this, but will try to help in any way possible.
Mona, please go up to the top and click on the Answer Button and select a team to work with.

The Super Sweepers  would be glad to have you on our team.
I will gladly like to join Team Tennessee.

Donna L Lewis

Donna, please go up to the top and click on the Answer Button and select a team to work with.

I wasn't recruiting her. Just merely directed her to the Answer Button.wink

Linda, it was Donna Lewis and it was from Nor'Easters. That would be the team Chris Whitten and I co-captain. I already messaged Donna as she may not have known she can only be on one team. She may have thought she could do New England for us and Tennessee for you.
I already used the answer button.  I would add that I have done everything practical to resolve unconnected and unsourced profiles from my watchlist

There are rejected merges. I am ready to try to remove them from my watchlst.  My access to orphaned family profiles was taken away so I just adopt as I run into them.
Linda, it's fine this time. I try not to invite people who have expressed a team preference unless that Team Captain hasn't responded to them. The thons are a great teaching opportunity for new WikiTree'rs. It would be nice if captains didn't try to snag teammates who are not in their region, that is not fair to the teammate or the other Captains. Really and truly I only want Teammates that are interested in our area of the map. We share our area with several other Teams so it can get confusing at times.  I would like to see a less confusing way to Register but this is the system we have, so we will have to learn to work with it better. The important thing is working together for a healthier Tree.
Hello,

I am sorry to cause so much confusion I did not know I could  not help more than one team at a time.  I did accept New England first because the majority of my family is from the New England States.  This is my first time and I am very sorry for the problems I have caused.  So am I registered for New England or not.

Regards

Donna L Lewis
I would like to join the Sandringham Strollers for the Clean-a-Thon. This will be my first, so please keep it simple until I know what I am doing. I recently joined the England team and have my 1st orphan (from Cornwall)! I am doing England because my paternal side migrated from England to MA and CT around 1630. Please let me know who I should connect with on the Sandringham Strollers team. Cousin Eowyn, I am supposed to request a badge? Thank you, Carol
Sandringham Strollers,

Count me in! Carol (Baldwin-3428)

I just joined the Sandringham Strollers. This is my first clean-a-thon, so please keep it simple until I know what I am doing. I could check some of the find-a-graves, for example.

I live in Tucson, Arizona and am originally from Wisconsin. I recently joined the England group and adopted my first 'orphan' earlier this week from Cornwall! I have already received a great deal of information on my orphan from a wonderful person at a Cornwall archives office as well as FamilySearch.

Why England? My paternal ancestors migrated from England to Massachusetts and Connecticut between 1630 and 1650. Several are listed in the Great Migration. One Lawrence ancestor is a descendant of Charlemagne. Another ancestor was John Rogers, the first 'martyr' to be burned at the stake by Bloody Mary. I got some archival information on him at the British Library when I was in London last year.

Please let me know what my clean up aisles are and I will prepare to do my best starting Friday morning, the 26th! Sincerely, Carol (Baldwin-3428)
Carol, could you go all the way back to the top and click "ANSWER" and then state sandringham strollers for them in the answer?
Donna Lewis, I figured as much as you can see by my replies. I have btw been sending you a few emails through Wikitree from your profile. You may want to check those. We still have your cabin unlocked. :)
I can try! I have been looking for that. Meanwhile, I have been listed and received and email from Gillian and got my 'marching' orders as a newbie for this Clean up! Thank you Steven. Carol Baldwin (Baldwin-3428)
Carol, you need to click on the ANSWER button and not the COMMENT button. :)
Please register me for the Spring Clean-a-thon. I would like to be a  Bama Bushwacker again!
Hi Lee,

Could you go all the way back to the top and click "ANSWER" instead of reply to register? And add the Bama Bushwackers again to your message.

Thank you!

I made my first correction and I don't see a tracker for the challenge:

Do they update automatically?

Never mind, I see that they do :-)

Hi this is where to look

http://wikitree.sdms.si/Challenges/CleanAThon/TeamSuggestionAndUser.htm

No Tracker Challange to click, tracking is done for this challenge means you must update the status for each profile see right of the suggestion list Status

Your work will be tracked but you must click the Status for this challange

It is important to:

1.Check the status before going to profile - in case someone already fixed the suggestion

2.Set the suggestion status once fixed

3.If you are participating in a challenge, you will not get credit for your work if suggestion status not clicked.

4.The suggestion tracking system looks at the status to determine how to handle an suggestion in the future

Hope this helps

How do I get rid of this please

Join the Data Doctors!
Busy with the the 2019 Spring Clean-a-Thon when it happened. Do you suggest I am at a disadvantage because I am not a Data Doctor
Data Doctors can send unlimited emails.

Yes for sending messages you are at a disadvantage as SJ Baty says there are various projects which enable you to sent more message a day.

Data Doctors is one review the project page https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Data_Doctors

Then if you like what you read and doing the work you do in the CAT then answer the g2g https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/768536/join-the-data-doctors-project-and-become-data-doctor-in-2019

Janet Data Doctor Coordinator

Our team is reporting contributions that are not being counted. Are we the only ones? How do we make sure they all get counted?

Also, another member has had their tracker button break.
That sound wrong Lisa.

Are all using the DD suggestions and hitting the status bar at suggestions and adding what they changed/bettered?

Probalby you know but you need to add what you did at the status key.

The SaTh is much easier.
Thank you Astrid. The issues have all been fixed and all are working now.

I appreciate the help. Hope your day is going well.

The tracker is lagging from time to time but when it updates, it remembers your score wink

Why can’t I register while the cleanathon is still on?
Because the closing date for registrations was Wednesday, a few days ago.
Deborah, you can still participate but just not on a team! Everything helps WikiTree become healthier!!!

I will be coordinating the Musty Dusty team efforts again. We focus on pre-1500 profiles so you need to be pre-1500 badged to join. There are not that many so certified so please consider Musty Dusty and help by digging into the "deep tree" as we tend to be a bit short staffed.
