Thank you for joining the Legacy Heirs!!! I am so blessed and thankful to have you here to join us.

The cleaning will start on Friday, April 26, at 8 AM (EDT) and run until Monday, April 29, at 8 AM (EDT).

MOST IMPORTANT: have fun and enjoy the experience. Every single contribution beautifies and makes the tree healthier.

We are a group that works in our own way. If you like to forge ahead at full speed to get something on each profile, that is great. If you like to work on one and make it as loved and beautiful as possible before moving on, feel free and show that profile all the love you can. We do not care if you wish to work in one specific place or all over the world. One hour or most of the weekend is fine as long as you are not putting yourself or someone else in harms way.

Respect for each other is a must, as is supportiveness, we are a wonderful team and amazing people.

Want a sticker for your profile?

{{Clean-a-Thon|team=Legacy Heirs|year=2019}} produces this one that is for our team

after the year you can add "|Suggestions="  if you want and then add the number you complete, when it is over, after the =

When ready to begin after the start time, you can find profiles to work on by one of two ways.

   1. The errors Categories are:

       100-errors: Person-related

These can be chosen on the wikitree+ page and then you can work through the ones listed for those.

2. Surname is another option.

Go to the surname page that you want to work on. That can be done by searching the last name in the search area at the top of the page. When you get to the surname page, at the top of the page above the profile list is some links. In the middle of those links is the error report. Click that and have fun

I find that as much as I would like to do genealogy work, I have other demands on my time that are more pressing. I hope I’ll be able to help out in the future.

No problem, we will keep trying and hopefully find the time you can. Meanwhile, who am I typing to? You were not logged in so it just says anonymous.

Good Morning, John! All the best.
Nice to see you as always, John!

just an hour and 55 minutes.
For some reason my corrections aren't being counted....
I will check into it. I know you have some that have shown up so I know you are doing it right and you are use to this anyway. Must be some kind of glitch. Give me a min. I will let you know as soon as I can get an answer.
Have posted a couple places for an answer. Will let you know the second I get an answer. Thank you John for all you do for the team and the tree. You are always such a great team member.
It seems to have yours in now, and the button issues others were having are cleared now. Give it a try for me please, John
Thanks Lisa..

Here's the spreadsheet option if you're interested. I, personally, am working on my long overdue suggestions for awhile today.

Cheers!

We're using the Challenge Tracker thing, right? (The one that has a link show up when you edit a profile?)

I tried to fix an error this morning relaly quick before my job started and edited the profile, clicked the tracker link ... and I didn't see Clean-a-Thon as one of the checkboxes to record a point. (I did double check and it's past 9 AM Eastern, so I'm guessing we are started now.)
by Kristen Louca G2G6 Mach 3 (32.6k points)
When you get to the checkboxes, go down the page to the right. There will be a little status button to push, it will take you to anohter page and on that one, you can click that you fixed it and how.

Thank you so much for all that you do for the tree.
Glad to see you here with us.
Are you talking about the "Status" button on the actual Databases Suggestions list? (The one that has radio buttons to indicate how you fixed it and a comment to add on it?)

Because on the actual Challenge Tracker link after you edit the actual profile, Is till only see 4 checkboxes for the various sourcing sprints, sorcerer's challenge, integrators challenge, etc., a comment box, an "Add Action" button and then a list of various buttons that are comment suggestions.

Are the scores being tracked based on how many things we mark as fixed in the Database Suggestions tool and not when we edit the actual profile? (Sorry, I am just used to the Challenge Tracker thing like is used in the sourcing challenges/Source-a-thon.)
Yes and no, Continue to click the challenge tracker link. When you get to the page with the boxes you are speaking of, scroll down  and to the right, and it will have the suggestions and on those it has the status button also. Click that one and it will take you to the page so you can mark that you fixed it, or left a comment, etc.

No problems or worries hun, the page you are looking for is if you follow this path. It will then count it for you after you finish the page to show what you did. As I just forgot, I have to remind everyont to make sure you click "update status" on that last page after you mark it fixed or whatever action was taken. I did not and had to go in and fix it.
Just looked and I see yours are showing up, thank you for every addition you are making
Great that you are here, Kristen!

Hi, team. I'm struggling somewhat with the multitude of data suggestions related to FindAGrave records. I'm reading the Data Error profiles/help pages and they provide some direction, but I'm still having some difficulty making decisions on whether or not to correct or take no action on a suggestion. For example, Data Error 574 page says:

"FindAGrave gives you a possible birth date, but try to find other sources."

I'm all for finding other sources (because I don't believe FindAGrave records are sources on their own), but if I can't find one and I tell the tracker I'm not changing a profile then I'm not really cleaning anything up and the same suggestion comes up again later.

Anyone else having the same challenges or thoughts on this topic? Thanks!

by Steven Bohlen G2G6 Mach 1 (16.1k points)
Hey hun,

First, Thank you so much for helping beautify and strengthen the tree.

I have had suggestions like that. I end up either getting too frustrated with that one and go to a different suggestion group to work, or in that case, I mark that it is per FAG (it is in the oprions for comment). I figure it has some information. If it is correct, great we have it on there. If there comes to be a better source found by someone else, they have a hint of about when it would be, they can then change it and all is good.
Thanks, Lisa. Sounds like we are somewhat in the same boat. :)

I like your approach...A FAG citation is better than nothing and a note indicating thoughts on the matter would help those looking at the profile in the future (including me!). Thanks for the advice. I'll keep at it.

I am back again, got the coffeee on and here we go Saturday! Thanks everyone for all your contributions. It's amazing how we are conquering the data smiley
