Is there a category for Plank Owner? World War 2

+3 votes
My Uncle has a certificate for Plank Owner on his profile under his source pictures. I know he helped in the recommission of aircraft carrier USS Lake Champlain. Also unable to find a Navy sticker that will work on his profile. I'm really in need of help on his profile, have gone as far as I can. Thank you.

In case anyone doesn't know, a "plank owner," is a crew member of ship on its maiden voyage.

OK Judy, Uncle Howard has the proper WW II sticker.  The Problem was there was no category for the USS Lake Champlain for conflict specific WW II.  The category you had is for non conflict service on the ship.  All taken care of.

As to a Plank Owner Category, I think this is best taken care of in his Biography.  To create a Plank Owner Category, each US Navy ship ever commissioned would need to have a separate category and this tends to lead to over categorization. Some data points are just best left to the Biography.

Having said that, you may want to re-tag your question with the tags:

military and war  categorization and world war II

These tags will get the attention of the folks on the Military and War Project who oversee your type of request.  Get the answer from the horses mouth and not from me, the other end of the horse.  LOL

Thank you so much for helping me.
Thanks for the star Judy.  My pleasure to help when it comes to the men and women who have served our country.

Military Categories and their relationship to stickers can be a bit tricky.  Takes making a few (mistakes really) to get the hang of it.  ;)
