WikiTree+ server hardware change

+41 votes
Today we migrated our WikiTree+ server to a new faster machine with more ram and SSD disks.

By first assessment, it is 100% faster. I will see later today, when utilization will increase.

If you notice any problems, let me know.

According to comments and additional checking, improvement on Web part is over 100%. I would say 5-10 times. I have seen up to 50 times faster functions.
The speed is good news. Thank you.

Better than 100% for me. Probably closer to 400%! I had one query that took about 15 seconds, now only 4 seconds. Awesome!

Thanks. I tested using Suggestions>Profile i would vote for 10 times faster. This used to take 30-60 seconds to get to generation 11 or 12 and then stopped. Now it went to just a few seconds and continued to generation 13. Two thumbs up.

Status appears not to be updating after correcting an error from the suggestions list.   Just prior to this the status button would not link to the status update page for a short period thenthe button started to  work again.

It seems to be working fore me.

Just spotted that my WT id is not being passed through to the suggestion status page even though I am logged in.I will try shutting everything down and starting again to see if this clears the issue.  Just for the record I am using Safari on a Mac Power Book.
WT+ is not directly linked to WikiTree. I am not using your login to WikiTree. On WT+, you must enter it once and then it is stored in the cookies for further use and next time you come to WikiTree+, it does auto fill.
Sorted, I will have to go through everything I have done today and redo the Status updates. I did a computer cleanup earlier and it appears to have wiped out all my cookies even though I have gone through the process many times before without a hitch. Ouch!!!

Thanks for the help.

Great, much appreciated on the suggestions loads.

SDMS searches much faster too - instantly.  Except that I did ask it to sort by birthdate which it did not (was searching Detroit Unsourced, sorted by birthdate, 200 per page) on an iMac using Chrome.  I don't recall if it did this accurately before . . .
