FamilySearch have been adding a lot of additional Irish records recently, including censuses, but the most significant improvement is images are now available for source records in the collection "Ireland Civil Registration, 1845-1913". This covers the same Civil Registration records that are available on civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie but FamilySearch has images for records which civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie has not yet made images available including marriage records from the start of civil registration in 1845.

wonderful! perhaps a brick wall or 2 will come crashing down now
Great news!
That is fantastic!  Just wish it was for earlier date as my ancestor I am researching was born earlier than that.

OMG this is brilliant.    The birth record I clicked on to try it gives an image of the whole double page of the register and you can click to previous/next page to browse - if you want to.

Thanks for sharing this !!

This is certainly an improvement although I have yet to find a record that is not on the irishgenealogy.ie site.  All it will take is for me to find one record that I could not find previously to make me a true believer!

The double page images and ability to go to prev/next pages is certainly nice.  The contrast settings for the images seem more natural but the higher contrast images on the Irishgenealogy site are a bit easier to read.

Meanwhile, the Irishgenealogy folks should be adding new stanches of records any day now (but they have been saying that for 18 months).
