If you look in Colorado in 1880-1890 you will find Indians with the maiden name cody, the problem is on several birth certificates I found no name was added for the father. This was in South Park and Gilpin area of Colorado which were mining towns. My Grandfather was Tom (Thomas) Cody and he was born in Colorado in 1883-1888. His father was William Cody and came from Burr, Kings Co, Ireland. I found NO tie to Indian blood even though I was always told their was a  link.
