Parents of Alice (Lamboll) Glover bp 1631 Rotherwick, Hampshire, England?

Alice (Lamboll) Glover is currently attached as daughter of George Lamball. Unable to find any documentation of a George Lamball (Lamboll) that would substantiate him as the father. George Lamball appears throughout the internet world without documentation and is also seen as George Henry Lamball with a death date that belongs to Henry Lamboll (see below).

What appear to be the baptismal records for Alice (bp 1631) and her known and documented brother William (bp 1634) are found in parish records of Rotherwick, Hampshire. Other records indicate the family resided in Reading. The father is listed on both as Henery [sic] Lamboll. Quaker William d 1720 (Quaker death records) and did not leave England. Alice came to the colonies after 1691 (Futhey and Cope place this as 1695).

Hi, there is an 1687 will for a George Glover of 'Ichendwell' ( I assume what we now call Ecchinswell.  A quick glance shows he has a daughters Hannah and Alice and wife Alice. Obviously it doesn 't look as if he died in America. It may throw some info about his wife Alices family

It isn't long. I'll transcribe it and put it on a free space page.

Thanks so much. Please post free space link when you can. This could be the right family if the dates work as there is no definitive record that George came to the colonies...no record of transport and no record of death or burial. We only have records of wife Alice in the colonies.

George had 4 children, Margaret, Hannah not yet 21, Alice and son John. Alice may well have gone to America before her father died, she receives a token 5 shillings only 'on demand'.  I've seen this before when children have emigrated or gone missing.

He mentions his brother in law William  Lamboll but no other family members.

He wrote his will in January 1686/7 when he was sick  and probate was granted in May so it is extremely unlikely that he went to America.  He wanted to be buried in the churchyard at Kingsclere .
Interestingly he gave his overseers a pair of gloves; was this just a pun on his name or was he a glover?
Thank you! I'll flesh this out but it sure looks like this is Alice and her husband George Glover...and a couple of children until now not known. Brother in law fits. George's death date is before she is seen in the colonies. Looks good.

re Hannah, I have found her marriage. The one on the profile is 10 years out.

Joseph Gilpin of Dorchester in the County of Oxon and Hannah Glover of Ichingswell in the p'sh (i.e parish) of Kingscleare in the county of Southton did take each other in  marriage in a publique meeting at Baghurst the 23 day of the 12/mo 1691 ( that must be Feb 1691/2)

Thanks. Marriage date on the original you found matches a list of the marriage witnesses I found in an 1885 publication by Cyrus Stern (which may be a handy tool for filling in some of the extended family).

Odd that didn't come up for me at Ancestry but will check again. (Although some days the eyes glaze over and miss things!) Would like to check the Quarterly or MM minutes to know if Alice became Quaker or not. Brother William did and I find Alice referenced with Quakers but not yet as a member. Will also check Hazard Index to see if her possible meeting in the colonies is indexed there...don't think it has been transcribed like a lot of those small meetings that part of PA in that time.

Father has now been changed to Henery Lamboll who is documented by baptismal records.
