Where to conduct in person research in Caleb County, WV

My husband and I will be driving through West Virginia on the way to visit friends. I would like to spend a couple of days in the area where my research is stuck, Caleb and Putnam Counties in WV. However, I am not sure where I should conduct research while there. Any suggestions on how to maximize my time. I am specifically interested in finding Edmund Roberts in and around 1800 to 1830.

I usually hit the Court houses and Library, when traveling.   County Seats have most of records and they can inform you of other places to research.
Thanks!
