Does anyone have experience with genomelink.io?

Has anyone had any experience with this https://genomelink.io/.

It came from  an add on Facebook where you can upload your dna profile and find out any health issues for free.

I am a bit reluctant to upload as there is very little information about the process.

I'm interested if anyone has uploaded their DNA yet.

It's always good to be reluctant when faced with an unknown company wanting access to personal information!

Have you tried Promethease.com? I use it to see the testers DNA variants related to health.  It's not health reports such as 23andme.com provides, but it does show which DNA variants are "potentially" good vs. bad for the tester based upon the latest research.  The fee is nominal. I've even used it to decode the differences between my identical twin grandson's, one which is diabetic Type 1 and the other is not.

I looked it over, and while I can't say to avoid it, it's hard to recommend spending any money on it.  It's free at first, and you'll get a number of traits reports, so should be somewhat entertaining.  The site says all the right things, and the Privacy Policy, Terms of Use, and Informed Consent agreement have LOTS of words, mostly the right ones, but do not appear to be airtight or up-to-date.  They are dated in May of 2017, and would probably not pass the GDPR.  I'm personally fine with that, but others might not be.  An example of loose wording, the Privacy Policy contains the sentence "You may be able to opt-in, opt-out or otherwise adjust your preferences of having your information used for certain of these activities".  That weasel word "may" rather ruins the intent.  The second review discusses these docs more thoroughly.

The company sounds legitimate, based in Japan, about 2 years old, and has a page with very nice looking people, none look sleazy!  I wish I could recommend the service, but I can't.

I looked up various reviews, and the main conclusion was that it was fun but not reliable.  Many of the report conclusions offered by the company were "Inconclusive" or flat wrong.  Here's 3 reviews:

I signed up for a free trial. It said that they would contact you to let you know before your first payment was charged. Unfortunately all the information they gave me was incorrect. To me it all seemed guessed. I cancelled it after receiving my first report. I received an email the next month telling me my account had been charged. In the email it gave their number which I immediately called. It was disconnected!! I emailed them. I did get responses this way but they told me I would have to cancel it again. I checked my account and they hadn't charged me yet. After four days of emails they charged my account even though they told me my account had been canceled. They are ignoring my questions about refunding my money.

Sorry to hear that. I hope you are able to sort it out.
Ouch. But thanks for cautionary caveat emptor, Gina. It will no doubt warn some others to tread carefully.
