931 Project Box without Project Account.

Can someone please help me on correcting DD 931 Project Box without Project Account?

Description of error:  Profile isn't managed by a project. It has a project's Project Box template.

Action steps:  Add appropriate project account as a manager of the profile.

WikiTree ID: Andrew Stewart Ireland, born 1620.

I think I'm suppose to correct to SCOTTISH CLANS.

You could just add a sticker to the profile. And not a project box you don't need a project account with stickers.
I was wondering how to fix them myself. This is a new error that has come up. Mine is the Chiefs of Clan Grierson. They have had the same I guess project boxes for a long time , but the error is just now coming into play. From what I can see on the Scottish Clans Project Page this is the template they have listed to put on profile, unless I missed something.
Misty your Scottish clans would fall under the  Scotland project. You can either add stickers which are on the Scottish Clans project page, or  add  Scotland to indicate management and notify one of the Project Leaders in order that they apply the Project Account to the Profile.

Please don't assume that the "action step" identified in the suggestion is a mandate. Maybe that profile should have the project account added -- but maybe it doesn't merit management by the Scottish Clans project. I think you should look on the project page for information on the project's scope (see if this profile fits that scope, and see if there is an indication of what criteria the project uses to decide which profiles to manage. If that doesn't tell you whether this profile deserves project management, you should be asking advice from the project.

I'm retagging your question in hopes of getting appropriate attention to it.

I just put a similar question up for a profile on a South Carolina governor whose profile I adopted. It is still unclear what is desired. Are we supposed to contact different projects to see if they want the profile?  If no project wants it, are we supposed to remove the project and put a sticker?
It's quite a process, but that's what I've been doing since the "if project box/then project account" clarification was made in the fall of 2017. I discovered how many more I had to do when they became a database error!
 • From the DD instructions......Added new errors 920 and 930 They are PPP and Project related. This error are all project related, so check the Help pages and work with related projects on how to tackle those errors.
No one should be removing boxes or adding projects as managers without working with the project.

Most of the ones like this I've looked out down here in New Zealand have just had the project tag added to the profiles by the PM on or near creation.

They have had nothing to do with the project/weren't created by the project/ or managed/Locked by the project.

These include

:"Scotish Clans" - when they should have used the sticker "User Scotish Clan" - this still has the ability to create the Category Tag for the Clan an the right tartan for the Clan

:"Irish Roots" - when they should have used the sticker "Ireland_Native"

:"India" - when they should have used the sticker "India Sticker"

From the Scottish Clans Project page, this appears to be the sticker that should be used instead of the Project Box;

2. User Scottish Clan

This Profile Sticker is for WikiTreers and ancestors who are/were members of a Scottish Clan.

To include it on your profile, insert the following code into your biography, inserting the appropriate tartan image and clan name:

The template is almost identical to the project box template, replace "Scottish Clans" with "User Scottish Clan", tartan and clan parameters are the same.

The template page

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Template:User_Scottish_Clan

needs to be updated to match, as it currently just says "for WikiTreers".

I should have mentioned, the sticker goes below the Biography heading, project boxes go above the Biography heading.

Every template has a documentation page.  There's a systematic way of finding it.  Change to and insert the prefix Template:

Eg Notables  -> Template:Notables

If the template is a project box, it should display "Categories: Project Boxes" at the top.

Could we ask that all of the project box templates include in their documentation page (maybe in an infobox)

- a statement that they only belong on account-managed profiles.  (Vague statements like "for use on profiles belonging to the ____ Project" are very ambiguous)

- the project and project account they're linked to - there must be a list now, to produce some of the Suggestions.  (Note some projects share an account, while other projects have more than one account, and there's no clarity in how templates are used in these cases)

- the project policy on selecting profiles for management (can PMs donate profiles, or should it be left to the project to adopt what it wants)

- if appropriate, the project account's email address

It would also be helpful to know what other project boxes (and stickers) belong to the same project/account, since some projects have a choice of several templates and the most appropriate needs to be picked.

I would have thought that any Project's email address would and should remain private, just as your own email address is private.  That way, people could not go around adding the Project (or you) to loads and loads of profiles that the Project (or you) is not interested in and does not fulfil eligibility requirements.
